We respectfully request a minimum 24-hour notice on all refills. This ensures we have the appropriate amount of time to review your pet’s file and safely prescribe correct medications and dosages. In the event you need a prescription filled within 24 hours or same-day, please call our office to submit the request.
NOTE: As we are AAHA certified and held to the highest standard of patient care, a current exam is required for dispensing prescription medications. This ensures that your pet is healthy enough to handle the potential side effects of some prescriptions and provides further confirmation that the medication is appropriate for your pet’s current condition. Many long-term prescriptions require current blood work every 6-12 months to monitor your pet’s tolerance to the medication and ensure the medication remains safe to administer. If your pet is past due on these requirements, you will need to schedule these prior to a refill request. If you are not sure, please call to speak with a staff member who will be happy to help you.
Controlled Medications Notice
By DEA law, we have many regulations and restrictions on controlled medications. If you are requesting a controlled medication refill, you may be contacted by a member of our team with further instructions. If a refill of controlled medication is approved, we are required to have a driver’s license in hand at check-out to verify birthdate information and input that into our system. Please be sure to have this with you when picking up.
Please be advised certain long-term medications need to be reviewed by your pet’s veterinarian to confirm correct dosing and monitoring. This may increase wait time on your prescription refill as the doctor reviews your request.
Some prescription medications and food are not always in stock in our clinic and may be required to put on our special order list. If this is the case, we will call you to let you know when you can expect it’s arrival so you can plan when to pick-up. If a requested medication or food does not come as requested, we will also call to let you know what your options are.
IMPORTANT: Prescription Refills and food orders are not confirmed until you have received notification. A staff member will contact you by phone or email to let you know it has been submitted and when you can expect to pick-up your order.
