Dr. Elizabeth Brown

A 1989 graduate of Louisiana State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation. After graduation, she practiced equine and small animal medicine in Wilson, Nc. In 1991, she moved to Charlotte, Nc and began practicing exclusively small animal medicine at Animal Medical Hospital. In 1998, she became a board certified feline practitioner. Her special interests include feline geriatric medicine, gastroenterology and dermatology. She is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioner and a Diplomat of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioner.

Dr. Whitney Lewis

Dr.Whitney Lewis is a 1992 graduate of the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. As part of her veterinary training, she completed an externship at Animal Medical Center in New York City. She went on to practice in Asheville & Chapel Hill, NC before eventually settling in Charlotte to start & raise her family. In 2001, Dr.Lewis joined Dr.s Wood & Brown in opening the doors of Piper Glen Animal Hospital. She is a member of NCVMA, AVMA, & AAHA.

Dr.Lewis enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, but most especially enjoys the relationships she has with both her clients and their pets! Dr. Lewis enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, and her four-legged babies Maddie and Mr. Puffkins O’Malley. She also enjoys catching up with friends and dabbling in her flower garden.

Dr. Greg Wood

Dr. Wood attended Auburn University College of Veterinary medicine where he graduated with honors in 1995. Dr. Wood enjoys all aspects of canine and feline internal medicine. His special interests include dermatology, endocrinology, senior wellness and pain management. He enjoys learning and expanding his current knowledge base through regular continuing education seminars, veterinary journals and active participation in webinars and podcasts from Vetfolio, Vetgirl and the ASPCA.

Dr. Wood is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Cornell Feline Heath Center.

During his free time Dr. Wood enjoys relaxing at the lake, mountain biking, canoeing and spending time with his wife, Lisa and their three dogs, Maslow, Piper and Skinner and cat, Merlin.

Dr. Mamone

A native Floridian, Dr. Mamone graduated from the University of Florida with honors. She then went to veterinary school at Ross University, attending the Ohio State University for her clinical year, graduating with honors in 2011. Dr. Mamone then went on to complete her first rotating internship at Louisiana State University, where she published two journals in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.

Wanting to hone her surgical skills, Dr. Mamone completed a second surgical internship at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. Once advanced training was complete, she moved to St. Petersburg, FL and practiced general practice, emergency, and shelter medicine for 5 years. Dr. Mamone relocated to Nashville, TN for the past two years and then relocated to Charlotte, NC in March of 2020 to continue practicing veterinary medicine, including emergency and shelter medicine.

Dr. Mamone is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and her special interests include surgery, dentistry, and dermatology. During her free time, she loves running, hiking and exploring all of the nearby mountains, kayaking, traveling and spoiling her two dogs (Hayley and Lola) and cat (Cheechu).
